They are filling one of my flower planters that I have morning glory seeds in. Is there something that I can use or do to keep this pests out of my flower boxes? I heard that yellow cornmeal is good. Is this good to use? Appreciate any info…..

are they fire ants like we have here in Mississippi—if so find another ant bed–scoop up a few hundred–carefully– and put them in the flower planter—legion has it that they will kill each–1 trying to take over mound–other defending it—or try boric acid, or real lemon juice and leave rind in the pot, bone meal, or powered charcoal from the grill, wood ashes also—or go to garden center and buy ——-diatomacous earth—-this is small grains that resembles a sweet gum ball–got stickers all over it —insects cant walk on it
I had this problem and what works for me are those little cheap plastic ant traps. Place them in a safe spot or cover with a couple small rocks so your dogs or other animals don’t get to them. Each trap is about 3″ square, cost about 3$ for a box of 4 and I put them in the flower boxes and have no ant problems now. I have had HUGE ant hills around my yard. I am surprised my hot tub hasn’t moved.
I also use them in the house. I put them where my cats won’t get to them. A week ago the ants came in. I put out 4 around the kitchen and within two days the ants were gone.
So easy and so cheap. Good luck.

Mix 20 Mule Team Borax half and half with Quick chocolate drink powder and sprinkle a little around. It terminates ants and some other insects, but is harmless to everything else.
Here is how it works. The 20 Mule Team Borax clogs the ingestion of the ant, and the Quick chocolate power makes the ant eat it. Mix it well before sprinkling. It takes about a week do finish the job. You will be delighted. However, ants are against it!
I use coffee grounds for getting rid of ants and cayenne pepper for keeping pets away from flowers etc.
